I recently discovered this amazingly cheap brand at Ulta! There are quite a few great quality products available for less than $5.00, which is freaking awesome. So since I'm all about saving money but still having great make up, I decided to do a little review for you guys.
One of the first products I purchased was this eyebrow pencil. I jumped on the eyebrow bandwagon really late in the game and literally just started filling in my brows. I used to think it was an unnecessary step that just made getting ready in the morning longer. But holy cow it makes a difference! This was a great starter eyebrow pencil but now that I've gotten more experience, I lean towards small, twist up pencils. They come in two shades, which is a small selection but for $1.99, you really can't beat the price. I really don't like how you have to sharpen it because the tip is never skinny or sharp. It can be hard to get a precise line. I also have very thin eyebrows with a lot of bald spots and this product doesn't stick to skin, just to the hair. So if you have thicker brows, this should work great!
Lash Princess Mascara- $4.99
I've gone back and forth with this mascara for the past couple months. Sometimes it makes my lashes look amazing and other times they look clumpy. It's seriously the weirdest thing. When you first open it, it's a super wet mascara which I'm not a fan of. But over time is starts to dry out a little bit and becomes easier to work with. The wand is also a little hard to get used to because it's very long but after a week or so it's not a problem anymore. Overall for $5 this is a great option! I personally like it much better than all of the Maybelline mascaras.
Essence eyeshadows are a hit and miss. Some are crazy pigmented while others don't show up at all. This shade is a little in between both spectrums. It's not really pigmented but it is very buildable. I like to wear it all over my lid when I'm having a lazy day and just want a little bit of color. An absolute amazing shade is Grammy Goes Glammy. It's so incredibly pigmented and perfect for a highlight.
Don't be deceived by this product thinking it's going to be a matte finish. It's a very glossy, pigmented and it lasts for a decent amount of time. After it's been on your lips for about an hour or so, it gives a stain effect on the lips which is absolutely gorgeous. There's quite a few different color choices and I seriously want them all!
I received this product for free when I spent over $10 on Essence products on the Ulta website and I'm so happy I did. I wear this eyeliner every single day in my tight line and I love it. It glides on so smoothly and stays put all day long. I've tried several different pencil eyeliners and this one is at the top of the list!
I also use this product almost every day and I love it. There are three different shades to choose from, which isn't a ton but if you're just starting out in make up, this is a great option! It keeps my eyebrows in place and also makes them a little bit fuller since it's a tinted brow gel. It's a fantastic dupe for the Benefit Give Me Brow, so save your money and buy this instead!
I got two different shades, one in Play With My Mind and another that's been discontinued. I had heard so many great things about this nail polish and it's so cheap that I had to give it a shot! Unfortunately this was a bust for me. It chipped a few hours after I painted my nails. I absolutely love packaging and it makes me so sad this just didn't work.
Gel Nail Polish Top Coat- $3.99
I even tried the top coat and it didn't help at all. They still chipped within a day and all my hard work was for nothing. I haven't tried the base coat and maybe that would make a difference but after having it fail twice, I don't really want to spend money on something that probably won't work. So I would recommend passing on the Essence nail polish line.
And that's everything for this review! I hope you guys found it helpful and let me know down in the comments some of your favorite Essence products!
xoxo
